BOCAS DEL TORO, PANAMA




The district of Chiriqui Grande covers an area of 207.3 kmē and has a population of 11.016 inhabitants (census 2010). Consists of 6 "corregimientos" (subdivisions): Chiriqui Grande header (3.014 inhabitants), Miramar (1.232 inhabitants), Punta Peņa (2.520 inhabitants), Punta Robalo (1,164 inhabitants), Rambala (1.682 inhabitants) and Bajo Cedro (1.404 inhabitants).

The population is predominantly native: the presence of ngobes (original peoples) is constant and majority, but there are also small groups of bugles, afroantilleans, mestizos, latinos and peasants from the neighboring province of Chiriqui

As the district of Changuinola, its territory extends from the mountains of the Cordillera Central to the sea, the Laguna de Chiriqui in this case, part of the Caribbean Sea.
